Moving Forward
Thank you to our patients for sharing their dreams and desires with us and giving time and energy we ask to achieve their goals. Our hope is that in return you are continually moving toward the life you envision and embrace movement as the cornerstone.
If you are still deciding if Precision is the right fit for you, we invite you to take a glimpse at the stories below.
“Prior to going to Precision Physical Therapy, I thought that it was time for the total foot reconstruction orthopedists had told me could be needed at some point. I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis (flat feet) in my twenties but was able to be active with orthotics and anti-inflammatory medication. Despite these interventions, I had daily chronic foot pain for decades. This had worsened, decreasing my mobility and it seemed the time for a surgical intervention had come. Before consulting an orthopedist, I went to see Dr. Jesse Civello at Precision Physical Therapy. Like most physical therapy, the exercises were repetitious and started with slow movements. Unlike most physical therapy there was a focus on the connection between mind and movement, the engagement of small muscles that are the building blocks for movement, and incorporation of my personal experiences with the exercises. Jesse was professional and thorough asking questions and gaining my input to determine a tailored treatment plan rather than providing a standardized program.
This treatment has been life changing! I am able to walk longer distances, climb stairs and hike without pain. My husband was amazed when, during a trip to Edinburgh Scotland, I never had to take medication for foot pain. I may, at age 65, even be able to run again, something I gave up in my forties. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage someone with chronic (or acute) structural injuries to get a consultation from Precision Physical Therapy.”

“Ann and all the people at Precision PT have been a godsend. Where the medical field has failed me these folks have not. They have done more for me than any physician I’ve ever seen… helping me manage a chronic arthritic condition and allowing me to continue my athletic pursuits and put me in charge of my quality of life. I will be forever in their debt and I can not thank them enough. They are so so knowledgeable about the human body and their observations and advice and treatments have been life changing. Yes I do the work but they are the greatest guides imaginable. They know their stuff.”

“After many years of running and cycling for long distance triathlons, I developed severe hip pain. I was diagnosed with a hip labral tear and impingement. I had to quit running entirely and I went to physical therapy twice a week for six months at one of the larger health care organizations in the St. Louis area. The progress I made under the traditional PT model (multiple patients to one therapist, no expertise in running) was minimal, at best.
About a year into my injury, I was still unable to run. Easy cycling and walking remained quite painful too. A family friend heard of my issues and recommended Ann Crowe with Precision Physical Therapy. Within my first few visits with Ann, I knew I was finally on the right track! Ann spent a significant amount of time reviewing my health history, understanding my activity goals and completing a full assessment. She developed and guided me through a regimen of exercises targeted to my specific hip issues, as well as other muscle imbalances I'd developed over years of running. Each visit, we reviewed my progress and adjusted my PT regimen as needed to keep progressing forward. Since the visits are always 1 on 1, Ann is able to spend a lot of time explaining the exercises and ensuring that one feels the right muscles groups working with each exercise. This 1 on 1 time and focus on small details/movements is one of the reasons PT under Ann's guidance is so successful.
Within a few weeks of going to Ann and following the home PT program, my hip significantly improved. I slowly started running again. Early in my return to running, we did a special session analyzing my running cadence and identifying corrections. This cadence analysis/correction was instrumental in my progress. At four to six months of work with Precision PT, I was running and cycling pain free. I've since completed several half-iron distance triathlons and have zero hip pain with running/cycling/walking. I've also identified new athletic goals related to long distance hiking and trail running. Ann has been enthusiastic about creating a strength training regimen to ensure I'm able to accomplish these new goals and remain injury free for years to come.
Precision PT and Ann's attention to detail, positive attitude and expertise made all the difference in the world in terms of my ability to return to being a healthy, active person. As a runner for almost 20 years, I've had multiple injuries and tried a several other PT outfits for various injuries over the years. The time, expertise and attention provided by Precision to each patient is different, in the best way possible. Their model is particularly well suited to people who are motivated to recover or want to get out of that cycle of frequent sports related injuries.”
