Meet our movement system experts

Jesse Civello, PT, DPT
Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist

With her love for helping others and her knack for solving complex problems, Jesse Civello knew that she wanted to be a physical therapist from a young age.

Her commitment to the profession only grew after witnessing her father go into cardiac arrest when she was a young adult. During her father’s recovery, Jesse became interested in the role of physical fitness as a means of preventative health. Throughout her physical therapy education she became passionate about just how imperative pain-free movement is to a lifetime of physical and mental wellbeing.

Today Jesse keeps this lesson close to heart in her work as a physical therapist. She takes great joy in helping her patients so that they can cultivate their own health through movement in every decade of life. Jesse enjoys working with active adults of all ages who want to achieve pain-free movement. As a published researcher in the field, she specializes in treating patients with chronic low back pain.

She continues to develop her movement expertise by engaging in regular teaching opportunities for doctoral level physical therapy students and professionals. She presents at the local and national level regarding treatment of TMJ pain and effects of motor skill training on chronic low back pain. She also obtained the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certification, enabling her to effectively address the unique physical therapy needs of the golfing community.

Jesse lives in St. Louis, Missouri with her husband and three daughters. She enjoys gardening and travel. She is an avid hiker and tries to make it out to her favorite regional hike, the Whispering Pines trail at Hawn State Park, whenever she can.

Ann Crowe, PT, DPT, MS
Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist

Ann developed her passion for physical activity through nearly two decades of competitive swimming including collegiate swimming and the Olympic Trials. While working as a systems engineer in the aerospace industry, Ann completed an Ironman triathlon. This experience helped her understand that swimming skills did not translate to injury prevention in running and cycling.

Following a biomechanics-based running analysis and skilled care from a physical therapist, Ann found her calling in human movement. She embarked on an entirely new career as a physical therapist, focusing on rehabilitating injured runners and endurance athletes. Ann has been treating runners at Washington University's running clinic for years and is a certified BikePT.

Today, Ann enjoys working with endurance athletes of all levels who want to train pain-free and without recurrent injury. She is working to share the joy that endurance athletics brings with other like minded active adults. Ann believes that helping patients to stay active in their sport through the rehabilitation process is a key to long term success.

To support her passion, Ann pursued additional training in The Science of Running Medicine and holds certifications in completing bike fits as a healthcare professional at the Bronze and Silver Bike PT level. She actively contributes to the swimming and cycling injury curriculum at Washington University in St. Louis Physical Therapy program for their Sports Focused Study doctoral students and is an international presenter on how swimming technique biomechanics impact shoulder pain.

Based in St. Louis, Missouri, Ann lives with her husband, two daughters, and their family dog. She enjoys running and cycling for fitness and actively competes in local artistic swimming team.
