Frequently Asked Questions

Good news! Missouri updated the law to allow patients to seek physical therapy care without a physician referral. Removing this requirement will significantly reduce costly delays in accessing high quality care.
If you are seeking care for a pain problem, we are still required to communicate with your other health care provider (Primary Care Physician, Physician Specialist, Chiropractor, Dentist, etc). For this reason, we will be asking for their name and contact information, if you have it.
A key component of our education as doctors of physical therapy is to thoroughly screen your medical concern and know when your medical concern is not in our scope of practice. If this is the case, or if you do not make improvement within a specified time frame, we are required to refer you to an appropriate healthcare provider.
If your referring provider wrote a prescription for physical therapy, please bring or send a copy for us to review. Your physician can also fax it directly to us at 314-354-5387.
If you have any questions about referrals, do not hesitate to contact us.

A private pay practice means that we accept full payment directly from you at the time of your visit. While we are not in-network with insurance providers, you can still use your insurance. We are considered an out-of-network provider.
We intentionally chose the private pay model based on its proven advantages. Private pay physical therapy tends to result in fewer visits than in-network services, leading to lower total costs for you as the consumer. Our model allows you to spend 100% of your time with a doctor of physical therapy, ensuring personalized and focused care.
Staying outside of the insurance system gives you greater control over the type and amount of care you receive. You and your physical therapist can collaborate more closely to tailor a treatment plan that best suits your unique needs and goals.

We are considered an out-of-network provider with commercial insurance. Most insurance plans have separate benefits for OON care. Please let us know at the start of your care if you plan to submit self-claims to insurance and we will generate a superbill.
If it is important to you to be reimbursed by insurance, please be sure to check your benefits in advance. You can call the number on the back of your card or use a service we provide through Reimbursify. Be sure to ask if pre-authorization is required before the start of treatment, as this may impact reimbursement.
If you are unsure about how to navigate this process with your insurance provider, please reach out and ask us questions.

We have partnered with Reimbursify, a service that streamlines the superbill reimbursement process for our patients at no cost. If you download the app, it is as easy as snapping a photo of your superbill. We strongly recommend you use this service if you plan to submit self claims. We will provide additional information on this process at your initial visit.
You can click here to start the process with Reimbursify. Once you submit your insurance information, we will call or email with your OON benefit details.

We are not enrolled as Medicare providers. This means we do not accept Medicare and are unable to send bills to Medicare. It also means that you are unable to seek reimbursement from Medicare for our services.
We can provide services to Medicare beneficiaries that are not covered by Medicare, such as preventative services or those not deemed medically necessary.
We know this can be confusing. If you have additional questions, please contact us. We will answer your questions and determine if we are the right fit for you. If you are looking for a Medicare contracted physical therapy provider, we can recommend a qualified physical therapist.

While visit length is flexible based on your needs, our evaluations and return visits are scheduled for 60 minutes. Running and cycling evaluations can vary based on patient needs but generally take about 90 minutes in total.

Bring clothes that allow you to move freely and that will make it easy to see the area of the body being treated.
If you are coming in with low back or lower extremity pain, please wear shorts that allow us to observe how your knee and ankle move. For neck or shoulder pain, please wear either a camisole or sports bra that allows visibility of your shoulder blade.
You are welcome to change into your therapy clothes here and hang your day clothes during your visit.
